Colorado Ballet announces 2012-2013 Season

Colorado Ballet Artistic Director Gil Boggs announced the 2012-2013 season, which will feature technically-challenging classical ballet with innovative contemporary premieres.  Marking the Company’s 52nd season, the four-production lineup will stay true to Boggs’ artistic vision of presenting superior quality classical ballet and innovative dance.

The Arc of Colorado Celebrates Developmental Disability Awareness Month with Film Festival

 

In celebration of Developmental Disability Awareness Month, The Arc of Colorado and its 11 local chapters will host a film festival featuring short films starring or produced by people with developmental disabilities. The festival will be held at the Denver Film Center on Colfax on Tuesday, March 20.

Artists Sought for Waterfowl Competition

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is soliciting original artwork entries for the 2012 Colorado Waterfowl Stamp Art Contest. This year's species of focus is the Ross's goose, a small white goose that is often confused with the snow goose. The deadline for artists to submit entries is 4 p.m., Friday, March 2.

Ring in 2012 with New Year's Eve Fireworks Downtown

DOWNTOWN DENVER – The sky will once again sparkle over the 16th Street Mall this New Year’s Eve with the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Downtown, presented by the Downtown Denver Partnership. Co-sponsors of the display are VISIT DENVER and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District.


Two spectacular fireworks shows will occur at 9:00 p.m. and Midnight, taking place simultaneously at two undisclosed sites along the 16th Street Mall. It is recommended that viewers stand along the 16th Street Mall for optimal viewing.

The Arapahoe County Cultural Council awarded $1.15 million of Scientific and Cultural Facilities District Tier III funds to benefit 81 local art, cultural, scientific and historical organizations at a ceremony on Oct. 20.
